The inspiration for the Qoobi One design is as diverse as it is intriguing. From school stereometry lessons and ice cubes in a glass of whisky to early works of Victor Vasarely, Hayao Miyazaki animation, and Star Wars movies, the influences are eclectic. The design also reflects a cold and aloof Scandinavian electronic music as the January morning, and an overwhelming desire to break down stereotypes and create a product that is completely unique in its class of devices.
What sets Qoobi One apart from other audio devices is its innovative conceptual design that seamlessly blends the best of heritage analog audio technologies with ultra-modern wireless solutions. The sharp shape of a metal polyhedron is placed into a glass prism, creating a contrast that is both visually striking and technically advanced. The body is made of light alloy anodized aluminum, which also serves as a convection radiator for the heated tubes, ensuring stable and continuous operation. The glass prism, made from high-strength quartz glass, is produced using state-of-the-art extrusion technology.
The Qoobi One is not just about aesthetics; it's about delivering an exceptional audio experience. When a track is played from a smartphone, it wirelessly goes through a Bluetooth connection to Qoobi. The digital music is then 'defrosted' and re-assembled with Qoobi's high-end vacuum tube technology, resulting in a sound that is emotional, colorful, and exactly as it was created by musicians in the studio.
The project began in February 2015, and by March-April 2017, a working prototype was ready. The process involved a series of technical researches, multiple tests, consultations with leading technical experts in the audio equipment field, and overcoming challenges like finding the perfect size for the product and selecting naturally matching materials. The result is a product that is unique in its design and performance criteria, and a source of pride for the Qoobi team.
The Qoobi One design has been recognized for its excellence with a Golden A' Digital and Electronic Device Design Award in 2017. This prestigious award is granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom, advance art, science, design, and technology, and significantly impact the world with their desirable characteristics.
